Prior to the conference, four training days(7-8, 10-11) will be offered in topics ranging from basic GIS and  RS to advanced  applications, e.g. e-government, location based services and environmental decision support systems. These courses will be led by instructors from both academia and industry.

Workshop

  
 


During the conference, business workshops will bring together organizations’ representatives to discuss their expertise and achievements in pursuit of partnerships to address the needs of Arab countries, communities and municipalities.



Exhibition
  
 


Parallel to the conference, an exhibition will be organized. Private companies, governmental organizations, scientific and training institutes and local authorities, working in the GIS at the local, national, regional or international levels, will be presenting their latest achievements and new technologies.

Young Researchers' Awards:
Awards will be presented for the best two submitted papers. (Researchers under 40 years old).


Socials & Activities
  
 


The ArabMap will start by an ice-breaking reception on the 11th of September and end by the Gala Dinner. In addition, several local (half day) tours in Cairo, e.g. visiting the pyramids, historical Cairo and the famous Egyptian National Museum, as well as, a number of pre and post-conference tours to other cities in Egypt, e.g. Hurghada, Sharm El-Sheikh and Luxor, will be organized to experience the magnificence of Egypt.
